John Butler Trio Unveil Brand-New Single ‘Only One’

Following on from an extended period of touring internationally and spreading the love all over the world, John Butler Trio have managed to squeeze in some cheeky studio time. Now the band is good and ready to begin talking up their forthcoming album Flesh & Blood, releasing the lead track Only One to get fans grooving alone in the interim.

From the word go, Only One is a total good vibe. The rapid finger-picking is soon joined by shuffling drums, though Butler’s mean vocal chops remain the foundation of the track (JB is sounding extra smooth these days). If you’re not moving come chorus time, the steel drums are sure to resolve that, as is the catchy “do-do-do” hook.

The new record marks the end of a four-year strong recording silence from JBT with the last full-length offering dropping back in 2009. However if the success of the platinum April Uprising is anything to go by – which it is – we can expect another internationally acclaimed, chart topping effort once again.

Only One is a strong indication that we can expect a riot of a good time with the upcoming album Flesh & Blood set to be released on Friday, 7th February. JBT have managed to sell out the entirety of their upcoming Australian headlining tour, though the crew will be appearing at the below festivals.
