Josh Homme, Slash, Pharrell Appear In New Foo Fighters Trailer

Foo Fighters have revealed another trailer for their upcoming Sonic Highways series, giving fans a taste of some of the big names that will appear in the show, including Josh Homme, Slash, Pharrell Williams, Slash and ZZ Top.

Sonic Highways, is connected to their new album of the same name and follows the band as they record in eight different US cities: Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington DC, and New York.

“I’m drawn to the outsiders,” explains Grohl in the trailer. “People who try to work outside that system. It’s that inspiration that moves you through life. And it’s all coming to me through these people.” Also featured in the clip is Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, producing legend Rick Rubin, Carrie Underwood, James Murphy, Public Enemy‘s Chuck D and Zac Brown.

The trailer also previews a snippet of a new Foos track, the raucous Feast and the Famine. The Foos have been teasing the arrival of the HBO show for a while now with a series of trailers, another one of which features a live performance of the album’s opening track, Something From Nothing.

Grohl has said viewers will see excerpts from the interviews featured in the lyrics of the band’s new songs one of which will be performed in each episode. “So the finale of the episode, when you see us performing the song, you’ll recognise all of these references from stories that you’ve heard in the last hour,” he explained.

Starting this coming Monday, Foo Fighters have locked in a week-long residency on The Late Show With David Letterman, during which they’ll perform a number of covers with artists who inspired their forthcoming eighth studio album.

Sonic Highways, the series will get its premiere on HBO on Friday, 17th October US time. The Butch Vig–produced Sonic Highways album is set for global release on 10th November.
