Rare Joy Division and New Order master tapes have been found recently by none other than English celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. With April Fool’s day approaching you might think the story was a joke.
According to the NME and Holy Moly, Oliver was excavating ground for a new restaurant in Manchester, UK when the discovery was made. Alongside the tapes were guns, gold and jewellery; all up the discovery has a total of £1.1 million. He’s since handed it all over to the treasury.
New Order will be touring Australia next month on the Future Music Festival 2012 line-up, as well as playing a number of their own sideshows.
