Julian Casablancas Hints At New Solo Release

Despite claims that they’re hard at work on material for a 2014 “return to the scene” — claims disputed by band guitarist Albert Hammond Jr.The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas has hinted at a sophomore solo release, a follow-up to 2009’s Phrazes For The Young.

A mysterious update to the singer’s website has sparked the rumours. When members visit Casablancas’ personal website, they are greeted with a previously unseen set of graphics as well as an invitation to sign-up to the Last Nite hit-maker’s mailing list.

According to Consequence of Sound, the somewhat incoherent graphic spells out, Voidz, which seems to take its cue from the idiosyncratic spelling of Casablancas’ aforementioned solo debut. Casablancas is slated to perform solo sets at Lollapalooza in Chile and Argentina.
