Jurassic Lounge Hatching Big Plans In 2013

Fast becoming one of Sydney’s most adored live music venues, the cats from Jurassic Lounge have revealed all the happenings to go down at the joint between February and April. Ancient artifacts, rare curiosities, nerf-guns and live music and DJs are but a few of the wonders we have before us.

Located at the majestic Australian Museum, Jurassic Lounge is surrounded by dinosaurs, priceless gemstones and all sorts of amazing members of the animal kingdom. Already, more than 44,000 punters have experienced the marvels of our world, beer in hand, to a live soundtrack of Australia’s freshest talent.

Everyone’s favourite cynical event of the year, the Anti-Valentine’s Day Party will be kicking off the fifth season of activities. With tango lessons, matchmaking games and Date Roulette hosted by comedian Michael Hing, not to mention the love and attraction-themed trivia, you’ll be having way more fun than all those clowns having their couple time. Oh – and did I mention they will be screening Green Porno, a collection of hilarious footage from Animal couples getting biz-ay aptly held together by movie star Isabella Rossellini.

The Chinese new year celebrations will be coming after that. The Year Of The Snake party brought to life by contemporary Chinese-Australian art and performances. Hot on the heels of that will be the Queer Culture Party to ring in Mardi Gras on Tuesday, 26th February.

The Museums Pacific Islands collection will host the Pacific Islands Beach Party which will feature Samoan tattooing, contemporary and traditional Pacific Island artists and performances and DJ’s.

This year will see the triumphant return of Dino Wars which entails nerf-gun battles, dance and DJ off’s all under nothing but UV light. The whole time, bands and DJ’s will be performing making the experience just totally off tits.

What’s more, there will be things to touch, scientist-type people to bother with questions, and Mexican food. Check out all the finer details below, and also hit up the website.
