Kanye West Brings Down The Jimmy Fallon House With ‘Bound 2’ Featuring The Roots

Kanye West set fire to the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon stage with an incredible performance of his song Bound 2 off his sixth studio album Yeezus, released back in June. West received some help from Late Night house band The Roots, singer Charlie Wilson, who did vocals on the record, and a children’s choir.

Host Jimmy Fallon took to Twitter to announce the surprise performance and remarked on the quality of the rendition, saying the rapper “kill[ed] it.” The track has long been rumoured to be the next single off Yeezus, following first single Black Skinhead. The Late Night rendition marks the first time the song has been performed live.

Somewhat overshadowing the stellar performance however has been West’s amendments to the lyrics of the song, with the rapper taking the opportunity to take a stab at fiancee Kim Kardashian‘s ex-boyfriend, R&B singer Ray J. West changed the first line of Bound 2 to “Brandy little sister lame and he know it now / When a real brother hold you down you supposed to drown“. West’s performance comes in support of his upcoming tour with Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar.
