Kendrick Lamar’s Surprise New Album ‘untitled unmastered.’ Is Here

Surprise! Kendrick Lamar has gone and dropped a brand new album dubbed untitled unmastered., after details of it leaked earlier today on Spotify.

The album contains eight songs and spans 34 minutes. The names of the tracks suggest they were recorded across 2013, 2014, and 2016.

Kendrick previously performed untitled tracks on The Colbert Report, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, as well as a new, politically charged verse at this year’s Grammy Awards.

After the album details leaked today, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, the CEO of independent record label Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) – home to Kendrick Lamar – confirmed via Instagram that the project would be unveiled today, thanking LeBron James for making it happen.

The project follows Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy winning album To Pimp A Butterfly, that also arrived by surprise, Lamar releasing it early in celebration of the 20th anniversary of 2Pac’s Me Against The World.

Get your hands on untitled unmastered., here. While at this stage it is only available in the US iTunes store, and Australian release should not be too far away.

UPDATE4.35pm: The album is now available in Australia.
