King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Announce Free New Album ‘Polygondwanaland’

It’s another great day to be a Gizzhead, with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard announcing their new album Polygondwanaland will be out later this week, for free!

And when they say free, they mean completely free to do whatever you want with. “This album is FREE,” wrote the band in their social announcement. “Free as in, free. Free to download and if you wish, free to make copies. Make tapes, make CD’s, make records.”

The prolific album makers also provided some handy advice for anyone wanting to download the record and make copies in the form of CD’s, records or even tapes.

The album download will include a hi-res copy of the digital artwork, a CD template for a front and back cover, as well as separate vinyl master tracks for anyone game enough to take the download to a vinyl press and put together a physical record themselves (with plenty more artwork ideas too).

All of these files will be available to download from 9am Friday, 17th November AEDT from the band’s official website.

As for anyone wanting to put together a cassette, they wish you luck. “If u wanna make cassettes I don’t really know what you would do,” say the band. “Be creative. We did it once but it sounded really shit. Maybe try the WAVs idano.”

The latest music we’ve heard from King Gizz came last month in the form of a single titled ‘Crumbling Castle.’

Their most recent album was released just a few months ago in August; a collaborative effort with Mild High Club called Sketches Of Brunswick East.

The band’s very own festival Gizzfest is also set to return later this month, with dates in Brisbane, Byron Bay, Newcastle, Sydney, Fremantle, Adelaide and Melbourne kicking off soon.
