King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Guitarist Makes Surprise Appearance On Aunty Donna Song

It turns out King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard guitarist Joey Walker features on one of the most recent drops from Melbourne comedy boys Aunty Donna.

The official credits for the troupe’s recent track ‘Professor Whiskers’ show that Walker supplied some epic guitar solos to the song, with additional bass coming from Melbourne artist Alex Pizzol and some guest vocals from comedian Sammy J.

Aunty Donna’s Broden Kelly tells Music Feeds that he actually went to high school with Walker.

“Joey and I attended high school together as young boys,” he says.

“Once we even played basketball against each other. My memory is shady, but if I recall correctly I scored a triple-double consisting of an impressive 24 points, 13 rebounds and 16 assists. Which at any level, is astounding.

“My mid-range shot was impeccable, as was my vision with the ball — I always managed to find the open cutting teammate for the easy lay-up. This wasn’t even a good game for me either.”

‘Professor Whiskers’ is about a man who lives his life as a cat, but it’s minimal production is worlds away from King Gizz’s psychedelic soundscapes. The music video is characteristically brilliant, and up there with the weirdest cat videos on the internet.

Aunty Donna’s debut album drops this Friday, and also features appearances from Montaigne, Boilermakers (Matt Okine) and Demi Lardner.
