King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Announce New LP ‘Oddments’, Drop Single ‘Vegemite’

Fuzzy Melburnian garage rockers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have just announced the release of their fourth album Oddments, due for release on 19th April. In celebration of the exciting news, the band are sending out an ode to their favourite breakfast spread with the new single Vegemite.

Don’t read too much into it, this new track and video is exactly what the title suggests. A two minute and 45 second tribute to the iconic Australian product, bound to put roses on all our cheeks. Said vocalist and songwriter Stu Mckenzie, “I recorded vegemite at my parents house in Anglesea on their out-of-tune-but-exactly-a-half-step-down piano. It’s probably the most literal song I’ve ever written. I love vegemite..”

The seven-piece are known to move quick-fire on the album turn-around. Their last three outputs were all released within the space of about a year. Meaning, the band that refuses to be defined by genre or bound by time could conceivably have a couple of records under their belt before we ring in the new year all over again.
