Sydney-based publishing company Kobalt has signed an exclusive deal to provide global catalogue administration for the publishing arm of Brisbane’s Dew Process Recordings.
The deal will see Kobalt working closely with Dew Process Publishing in writer development and to maximise synch opportunities for films, TV, advertising, games and other media.
Kolbalt Music Publishing Australia Managing Director Simon Moor said they were “looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship” with their new partners.
“Dew Process Publishing has a strong foundation within the Australian music industry and is already building a great roster which can benefit from Kobalt’s broad level of creative services, global reach and unique technology,” he said.
Two acts who will benefit directly from the new deal are Art of Sleeping (pictured) and The Falls, who Dew Process Publishing already have on their roster. Art of Sleeping released their debut EP Like a Thief in October, while The Falls recently played an ARIA showcase and are on the bill for the Peats Ridge Festival over New Year’s Eve. They also supported Iceland hype act Of Mices and Men earlier this year.
Dew Process Publishing A&R Manager Fergus Jenkins said he “couldn’t be happier” with the new partnership, describing Kobalt as a “dedicated and energetic team”.
“I’m also really excited to develop our relationship with these two incredibly talented artists. The adept nature of their craft for song-writing is abundantly clear.”
