Kraftwerk Confirm They Are Working On A New Album

German electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk just recently finished wowing Sydney crowds having performed their back catalogue of 8 studio albums as part of Vivid Live 2013 at Sydney Opera House, and now fans can rejoice once more with the news that the band have confirmed they are working on album number 9.

The news was confirmed during and interview between band leader Ralf Hütter and The Guardian. When quizzed as the whether the group were working on an album Hütter replied with that hallmark German efficiency stating, “oh yes,” before going on to elaborate. “Now this [live show series series] is done, one to eight. Now we can concentrate on number nine.”

The expected release date for the new album is still shrouded in mystery with Hütter’s only response to probing for a possible timetable being, “It’s music nonstop!” Fans will have to start playing the waiting game.

Kraftwerk made headlines back in March when the band were banned from taking their world tour to China on account of being booked to perform at a Tibetan Freedom Concert in Washington, D.C, which they didn’t end up making.
