Laura Marling Unveils Short Film ‘When Brave Bird Saved’ Featuring New Music

Recently announced Splendour In The Grass act Laura Marling has today unveiled her eagerly awaited short film, featuring new music from her forthcoming album. Premiered at an intimate screening in London’s Aubin Cinema last night, When Brave Bird Saved saw Marling team up with director duo Fred & Nick who were the masterminds behind Mumford And Sons’ award-winning short film series Gentlemen Of The Road.

When Brave Bird Saved is directly inspired by the first four tracks from Once I Was An Eagle, Marling’s highly anticipated fourth studio album slated for release Friday, 24th May. According to a statement on the short film from Fred & Nick, the pair collaborated closely with Laura over the last four years:

“The ambition and scope of this film marks an exciting new direction for us – and we were given total freedom to focus strongly on the distinct journey of the four tracks.”

Other than Mumford And Sons, Fred & Nick’s combined resume also features names such as Coldplay, Take That, Elbow and PJ Harvey, all of whom have been delivered documentaries and music videos as a result of the collaboration. Their domain isn’t just music, with Fred & Nick’s fingerprints also on advertisements for Dr Martens, Ikea, ASOS, Vodafone, and Nike.

You can watch When Brave Bird Saved below which features album tracks Take The Night Off, I Was An Eagle, You Know and Breathe.
