Lauren Horton Announces Launch Supports

In the lead up to the release of her striking debut EP There Will Be Static, Sydney songstress Lauren Horton is pleased to announce the supports for her Sydney launch.

Lauren will launch There Will Be Static on Wednesday 17 June at Oxford Arts Factory in Sydney, supported by quirky folktronic artist Sui Zhen and blues maestro Steve Smyth.

Lauren will perform with her live band The Clockwork Trumpets, which consists of local musicians Holly Austin (beats, drums), Robin Dixon (cello, double bass, baritone ukulele) and Luke Telford (guitar).

Recorded with producer Tony Dupe (Holly Throsby, Jack Ladder, Saddleback) in his picturesque rural studio, There Will Be Static draws influences from jazz, french-pop, lounge and folk genres.

Filled with infectious melodies, syncopated beats and sparse instrumentation, Lauren possesses a delicate, quirky vocal style and peppers There Will Be Static with poetic lyrics focused on themes of love, life and learning.

With her unique vocal delivery and sassy stage presence, Lauren receives regular airplay on Sydney community radio stations 2SER and FBi, and has earned a reputation for arresting live shows. In addition to her Sydney shows, Lauren has also supported Mick Turner (The Dirty Three), Jack Ladder, Lilith Lane and The Paper Scissors.
