Liam Gallagher Questioned By Police Over Video Of Possible Assault Involving His Girlfriend

CONTENT WARNING: The following article discusses alleged assault.

Liam Gallagher has been questioned by police after CCTV footage emerged of the rocker’s involvement in what officers called “an incident consistent with assault” against his girlfriend Debbie Gwyther.

The BBC reports the incident took place at a London venue, and police have since been made aware of footage published by The Sun (below) which appears to show the former Oasis member attempting to choke or push Ms Gwyther.

In late August, Gallagher took to Twitter to deny reports he assaulted Ms Gwyther.

Meanwhile, Ms Gwyther took to Instagram to say The Sun‘s story was “a pack of lies”, and threatened legal action against the publication.

The Metropolitan Police has since confirmed a man was questioned over the footage on 25th September.

“Officers are aware of footage of an incident consistent with assault believed to have taken place in August 2018 at a licensed venue in Chiltern Street, Marylebone,” a police spokesperson said.

“The footage has been assessed and inquiries will be made into the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident. No specific allegations have been received at this time.”

Police say no arrests have been made, and their inquiries are continuing.

Liam Gallagher last performed in Australia during Falls Festival 2017/2018.
