Linkin Park Discuss “Honest” New Album In Studio Videos

While we don’t have a release date just yet, Linkin Park are slowly teasing their first album in three years, sharing a few videos from the studio.

The band have shared three of eight videos detailing the making of the album and while they don’t reveal much, it’s more information than we’ve been given yet.

The first video titled ‘Piano’ shows Mike Shinoda, perched at a piano playing an untitled song without lyrics.

The second ‘Honesty’ gives us a little bit more detail about the direction of the record.

“There are songs that don’t specifically talk about situations – they talk about a frame of thinking,” frontman Chester Bennington explains in the video.

“This is shit that’s gone on inside my head, or this is something I’m dealing with. To me it tells a story but it’s also revealing as well in a different way – and that feels honest to me.”

He further said that they wanted to make an album with, “fucking stellar songs that people want to listen to all the time.”

The third video reveals some of those “honest” lyrics. It shows them in the studio workshopping lyrics to a song about when, “you’re holding onto something but it’s pulling you down,” as the band explain.
