Listen: Asking Alexandria – ‘The Death Of Me’

Written by Kiel Egging on March 30, 2013

UK metalcore band Asking Alexandria have unveiled their first bit of new material in recent times – unveiling their new single The Death Of Me for streaming via YouTube.

And it comes out of the blocks pretty hard as well – a bit of feedback before some deathly screams and furious guitars. Come the chorus, as is a trademark of most metalcore bands, the vocals are a bit clearer and whinier, ruining the momentum just a little. Still, it’s a pretty good track to wake you up. Check out the track at the bottom of the page.

The Death Of Me will be featured on Asking Alexandria’s new album From Death To Destiny, which is expected to be released in the middle of this year. Producer Joey Strugis has been behind the desk working on the record since late 2012.

In an interview with Loudwire late last year, lead singer Danny Worshop said the band have pushed the boundaries to create a solid body of work.

“It’s literally the best album we can write at this point in time. We spent a lot more time on the music. We spent a lot of time working on these songs and making them be as good as they can possibly be … It’s much more positive than anything we’ve done before. There’s some positive uplifting messages.”
