Listen: Ben Folds Five New Track ‘Do It Anyway’ Unmastered

Written by Mike Hohnen on May 8, 2012

It seems as though Ben Folds is just as excited to showcase his new material as we are to hear it! In the wake of the announcement that Ben Folds Five were back together after 13 years, the band has released an unmastered taste of what is to come.

The track is titled Do It Anyway and is available for stream. After releasing the track via the official Facebook page, Ben Folds commented on what we can expect: “The intensity of the track is typical of the rest of the album, but each song is quite different. That always was the way with our records I suppose. We’re nearly done and I think it’s a cracker”.

The last time we heard from the band was during the release of a three-CD set with the premise of providing a retrospective stance on Ben Folds and his career, aptly titled The Best Imitation of Myself: A Retrospective.

The band has always done things their own unique way and this time is no different. Choosing to avoid the endless record label red tape and inducting their own Label…or sorts. Handing the responsibility to their fans to promote and plug the album as well as launching a PledgeMusic campaign to raise funds for the release.

The band certainly has our attention now, and we look forward to what else they offer us in the lead-up to the album expected to drop in September of this year. Until then, enjoy this unmastered tastiness that is Do It Anyway.
