Listen: British India Drop New Track ‘I Can Make You Love Me’

Triple j has treated fans of indie rock outfit British India after officially unleashing their brand new single I Can Make you Love Me onto Australian airwaves.

The band stopped by the unveiling and spoke to main man Richard Kingsmill, further announcing that the band will be releasing a full-length album later in the year.

Frontman Declan Melia articulated the concepts behind the single quite well, stating “This next song you’re about to hear is pretty dark stuff. We go into some emotions and atmospheres that we’ve not been able to do before…[The album’s] sounding good. It’s sounding very eclectic. ‘Avalanche’, I’ve been told by listeners, is an eclectic record, but this is eclectic on an even greater level. It’s a real mixed bag. It will have our heaviest music on it but it will also have almost Bon Iver-ish folk stuff and all these different influences we’ve always listened to, but it’s going to really bubble to the surface on this record. Because I think we’re only now ready, willing or brave enough to show them off.”

The album hasn’t been christened but the 4th release from the band is expected around November, and stay tuned for news on a national tour from the band! Enjoy the track.
