LISTEN: Eels – ‘Mistakes Of My Youth’

Fans of Mark Oliver Everett, the nucleus of prolific California alt-rock outfit Eels, have a reason to celebrate with the artist now unveiling the second official taste from his forthcoming eleventh full-length studio effort, The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett, slated for release 18th April.

The new 13-track collection is being touted as the singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist’s most personal album yet. The songs offer new, vivid insights into Everett’s unique psyche, the tracks dealing with themes of personal struggle, loss, and regret, instilled with a sense of nostalgia.

Since the band’s acclaimed 1996 debut, Beautiful Freak, Eels have become one of the alternative music scene’s most prolific, sonically daring, and consistently praised bands, with frontman and primary songwriter Everett also garnering acclaim for various non-musical ventures.
