Listen: Flying Lotus Feat: Earl Sweatshirt And Captain Murphy ‘Between Friends’

Today we have been privileged with a collaboration that apparently won’t be included on Flying Lotus’s latest album Until the Quiet Comes. The track Between Friends will feature the likes of Earl Sweatshirt, and a previously unknown artist Captain Murphy.

A few weeks ago, Feeds reported that an array of guest talent would be appearing on the album, including Thom Yorke, who teamed up with Flying Lotus for his 2010 release Cosmogramma. Obviously they liked what they did together and will hopefully be bringing the same magic back.

Between Friends will act as a ‘satellite single’ to the album. The collaboration of Flying Lotus and Earl Sweatshirt is something so awesome I had never even conceived of it. The rap prodigy of Odd Future fame has been doing the collab rounds recently, including a cameo on Frank Ocean’s masterpiece channel ORANGE. No previous works have been found that include the likes of Captian Murphy, but by all accounts his presence only makes the song cooler, and according to Pitchfork, it’s not the same Captain Murphy from Adult Swim’s Sealab 2012 though, given the singles spot on Adult Swims Single Series. Hmm…

Check out the tune right here, enjoy!
