Rolling Stone has recently premiered the new remix of Kimbra’s track Two Way Street. Lifted from Kimbra’s 2011 debut record Vows, the remix is handled by producer Damian Taylor. As opposed to the sparse sounds of the original, which allows the song to be driven by Kimbra’s powerful voice, the Taylor remix is a synth-heavy anthem that builds in energy as the track progresses.
“The idea behind ‘Two Way Street’ first came to me in LA,” Kimbra told Rolling Stone, “I was walking on Hollywood Blvd., and I began thinking about streets as a metaphor for love, and the song grew from there. I’m a big Björk fan and I recently met and started working with Damian Taylor. Our first collaboration is his remix, and I think it takes the song in a really exciting direction.”
If you’re at Splendour this weekend, maybe you’ll get a dose of the remix live during Kimbra’s set.
