Having achieved a spot in Triple J’s Hottest 200 with their previous single, We Are The Same, tune-slinging Melbourne six-piece Lurch & Chief have announced their return with new single Mother/Father, proving they have plenty more up their sleeves for fans and newcomers alike.
The new single from this increasingly prolific group is a lyrically darker affair and banks on the members’ ability to create a lush and expansive sound, while incorporating harsh guitar tones and the band’s trademark call and response vocal line between Hayden Somerville and Lili Hall.
Music Feeds was lucky enough to have the group come into Music Feeds Studio to play for us live, not long after the band unveiled Wiped Out, their sophomore EP. Having only played their first show together in May of 2012, they perform like a unit with experience beyond their years.
