Listen: New Flaming Lips and Prefuse 73 collaborative EP

Speaking via tweet yesterday Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne announced that his band and electronica artist Prefuse 73 had finished work on a collaborative EP and that it was “Coming out later today!!!” to quote Mr Coyne. Released on psychedelic printed vinyl, this marks yet another chapter in the Flaming Lips ongoing series of small releases so far this year, following on from the Candy Skull USB release.

Titled Supermoon Made Me Want the EP was recorded at Tarbox Road Studios, Wayne Coyne’s house in Oklahoma and on Guillermo Herren‘s (aka Prefuse 73) computer and produced by Dave Fridmann.

As reported by Consequence Of Sound, four YouTube streams have been posted up online by Psych Explorations of the Future Heart embedded below for your listening pleasure, with James Lovett of Playful Prairie confirming the streaming tracks are indeed those from the EP.
