Listen: New Material from Prince Released Via Social Media Channel ‘3rd Eye Girl’

Written by Marc Zanotti on January 8, 2013

The somewhat mysterious social media channel 3rd Eye Girl has become very active in the last few hours, uploading a host of material by the one and only Prince.

As noted by Princevault.com, on December 31, 2012 3rd Eye Girl posted on its YouTube channel a clip of Prince recently rehearsing his 1979 track Bambi. Now within the last 24 hours, 3rd Eye Girl has become very busy, posting a whole heap of music on its recently opened Twitter account and Facebook profile.

As reported by Antiquiet, a previously unreleased track by the name of Same Page Different Book had been uploaded, and if it’s not by Prince then it’s by someone doing an awfully convincing impression.

Other material available for your listening pleasure include an extended version of Prince’s 2010 track Laydown and a remix of last year’s single Rock and Roll Love Affair.

As noted by Antiquiet and Consequence of Sound, it is currently unclear whether 3rd Eye Girl is a project spearheaded by Prince and his team or if some maverick has broken into the Purple One’s fabled vault and uploaded the material without permission.
