LISTEN: Stream Iggy and the Stooges’ Unreleased New Album ‘Ready To Die’

Iggy And The Stooges’ ironically titled Ready To Die is available for streaming goodness in its entirety. With still a week to go until its US release date of Tuesday, 30th April and just a few days until the Australian release date of Friday, 26th April, this is the first new material in 5-years from those true masters of the universe.

The record will no doubt be 10-tracks of the same angry, world hating commentary that we have come to know and love from the band. What’s fresh about this particular album is that it’s the first time Iggy has made sweet, sweet music with guitarist James Williamson and drummer Scott Asheton since 1973’s seminal Raw Power.

This is probably one of the main reasons the tracks have been described as “raw” by long-term collaborator Ed Cherney, writes Consequence Of Sound. Cherney went on further to describe Ready To Die as “the anti-Christ of anthems”, and now thanks to the power of NPR, you can assess this for yourself.
