Modular and Perth-based four-piece Tame Impala have shared an interesting remix on their first single Elephant, which is taken from the band’s upcoming new album Lonerism. The track has been given its own unique vibe by the legendary rock experimentalist Todd Rundgren.
The original single was released back in July, and gave us a second taste of what to expect from their new material. Although it’s the first single, another track named Apocalypse Dreams was also revealed earlier on this year.
The new single continues on in the cosmic rock-a-delic fashion that has brought Tame Impala so much notoriety, and fitted seamlessly into the band’s set at Splendour in the Grass; we’re already looking forward to seeing it all again later on in the year at Parklife.
As for Tame Impala’s sophomore record Lonerism, the new LP is due out Friday, October 5, with the band reaching out to their fans for suggestions on how to put together the deluxe edition. We can’t wait to see what’s come out of that.
