The Horrors Announce New Album ‘Luminous’, New Single ‘I See You’

The Horrors have announced that they will release their fourth studio album, Luminous, on Friday, 2nd May via XL Recordings / Remote Control. The album is the follow-up to the group’s acclaimed 2011 effort, Skying, and will include the band’s latest single, the shimmering, retro-tinged I See You.

“We’ve refined our sound, and in terms of songwriting it is the record I’m happiest with,” said lead singer Faris Badwan. “It’s not so much about heavier guitars as a heavier potency… We want to make music you can dance to, music that elevates,” added bassist Rhys Webb.

“If you’re happy with one record I think you always have those fears that you’ll somehow never be able to write a good song again,” said Badwan. “I think between us we would never allow something that we weren’t happy with to be released. I can imagine it taking us 10 years to finish something.”

Since their debut, 2007’s Strange House, The Horrors have displayed one of the more interesting progressions in UK indie rock, seamlessly transforming from an aggressive, fuzz rock-playing garage outfit into a sophisticated shoegaze unit, displaying extravagant production and skilled songwriting.
