Listen To Linkin Park’s Epic ‘Rebellion’ Featuring System Of A Down’s Daron Malakian

Usually when band’s claim they’re returning to their roots on a new album, the resulting record sounds exactly like the last one. Linkin Park have always done things just a little differently, so it’s no wonder Rebellion, featuring System of a Down‘s Daron Malakian, is their rawest cut in years.

Hot on the heels of the burly Wastelands, Rebellion is the latest taste of the band’s highly anticipated new album The Hunting Party. According to vocalist Mike Shinoda, the new album is a reaction to the current musical landscape, which he says is saturated with dance floor pop music.

And he says rock is no different. “Rock music right now is very poppy, and pretty safe,” he told Tone Deaf. “An album like this really came about from this kind of realisation of that’s where rock music has gone, it’s gone to this poppy place and we can’t, we didn’t feel like we could go there.”
