One of M.I.A‘s producers has leaked a previously unreleased track from the English alternative star.
Producer Danja unveiled the single – Doobie – as part of a blog series he’s currently running, titled ‘Throwback Thursday’.
The duo originally recorded the track when they worked on M.I.A’s single from last year – Bad Girls – which came out in March. You can check it out at the bottom of the page.
We can also expect a fair bit more new stuff from M.I.A later this year when her overdue fourth album Matangi is released. Tentatively, it’s looking like mid-April at this stage.
As previously reported, Matangi was set for a release late last year; however, M.I.A’s record company sent her back to work on the album to “darken it up a bit”.
“It’s due in April, which is the Tamil new year – April 15th – and I’m still working on it,” she told Gold Coast Bulletin at the time.
“I thought I’d finished it. I finished it and then I handed the record in, like a couple of months ago. It’s like ‘We just built you up as the public enemy No 1 and now you’re coming out with all this positive stuff’.”
