Little BIGSOUND Lineup Announced: Bands + Speakers

Little BIGSOUND is an offshoot of the biggest music industry conference in the Southern Hemisphere, BIGSOUND. Little BIGSOUND’s organisers have announced their list of live performances and guest industry speakers that will be gathering together in Fortitude Valley’s Judith Wright Centre on Saturday, September 15.

Youth Music Industries (YMI) have joined with QMusic to piece together a lineup of some of the most influential and insightful industry personalities, both young and old.

The four stable spheres of the music industry – touring, marketing, management, and recording – will be covered, and there will also be a strong emphasis on the rising online element of the biz, which will be handled by speakers from online entities such as Spotify, TheMusic.com.au.

The speakers will be broken up by live performances from acts such as triple j Unearthed stars Sahara Beck and Thelma Plum and rising Rockhampton soloist Weathered, as well as Alexander Gow (Oh Mercy), Queensland’s own Hey Geromino, and Your Favourite, Enemies.

“We have grown up in a digital world and as we start our own careers in the music industry it’s time for us to learn what’s gone before and put it into our own context. This opportunity for Little BIGSOUND delegates to engage with industry professionals as peers and mentors is something that’s truly unique,” said YMI’s Little BIGSOUND Director (and year 12 student) Gonzalo Rodiño.

The event is set to be even more successful than its 2011 debut, where 120 youngsters took part in panel discussions, as well as hearing the words of wisdom from the industry titans who spoke.
