Live Music Returns To The Tote

Rolling Stone reports that after three months of lying vacant, Melbourne’s iconic Tote Hotel is set to reopen. New licensees Andrew Portokallis, Jon Perring and Sam Crupi (trading as Seventh Tipple) have singed an agreement to take over the Tote’s lease.

Seventh Tipple also runs music venues Bar Open, Pony and Yah Yah’s. Portokallis said “it’ll be back running as soon as we can patch it up a bit”. The site was stripped of its fixtures in an attempt by previous licensees Bruce and James Milne to pay back debts. A grand reopening is slated for later this month.
