Looks Like The New Gorillaz Album Might Be Finished In “Two Weeks”

We’ve been gripping at every clue we’ve been given about when to expect the new Gorillaz album but we may just have been given the most solid proof yet that it’s not far off.

A fan on Reddit has revealed that they supposedly ran into the group’s musical mastermind Damon Albarn on the street and he revealed that there’s only “two weeks” left of recording.

“Two weeks left of recording and the album’s finished,” the fan wrote accompanied by a picture (below) with Albarn himself.

This doesn’t mean it’s going to be out in two weeks, with a 2017 release date more likely. Gorillaz collaborator Jamie Hewlett told fans back in June that the album would be out in 2017 and with 2016 drawing nearer to a close, this looks like the most likely outcome.

It seems that the Gorillaz camp are preparing for new music too, reigniting their socials with two animated comics. The first was The Life Of Noodle and the second was The Life Of Russel with the latter ending on the quote, “The band was getting back together.”

Noodle has also just been announced as the new global ambassador for Jaguar which may have nothing to do with new music but it does mean Gorillaz are back out on the promo trail.

Check out the fan photo with Albarn below and start getting excited for new music. It’s happening!
