Lorde’s New ‘Team’ Video Is “Borne From A Dream”

There’s no stopping the express train that is Kiwi teen dream Lorde, with the 17-year-old songstress continuing full steam ahead with a video for her latest single, Team, taken from her debut album Pure Heroine.

Lorde, aka Ella Yelich-O’Connor, took to Facebook to explain the video, which sees the singer performing in a steamy tropical world:

“this video was borne from a dream i had a few months ago about teenagers in their own world, a world with hierarchies and initiations, where the boy who was second in command had acne on his face, and so did the girl who was queen. i dreamt about this world being so different to anything anyone had ever seen, a dark world full of tropical plants and ruins and sweat. and of this world, i dreamt about tests that didn’t need to be passed in order to be allowed in: sometimes the person who loses is stronger. enjoy xx”

Lorde performed the track at the 2013 ARIA Awards last weekend. And 2014 is set to be just as epic for the singer-songwriter, with a collaboration with Sydney hitmaker Flume in the works, as well as sets at both the Chile and Argentina installments of Lollapalooza festival.
