M.I.A. New Album ‘Matangi’ Coming In December + New Details Revealed

Written by Brayden Darke on August 10, 2012

Details about M.I.A.’s much-anticipated new album Matangi have been revealed after she held a fan discussion on her Twitter with the creative English electro performer dropping some hints about what we’ll expect to find when it is released later this year.

Earlier in the week she tweeted out to her fans, telling them that they could ask her questions, and also revealed some announcements herself. Some of the interesting questions included: the number of tracks (between 5 and 15), if there would be any collaborations (it won’t have any collaborations) and to describe the sound of the album (“paul simon on acid”). She also revealed herself that the album will come out alongside an autobiography, a documentary, and an art exhibition.

Earlier on this year she released a 2-minute video of a new track, which at the time sounded unfinished, mixed with footage of some guys doing some amazing dance moves. She tentatively named the track Come Walk with Me. This joins in with other possible track names, which you can see below.
