Macy Gray Announces One-Off Sydney Opera House Show, September 2012

Written by Marc Zanotti on June 12, 2012

Vivid LIVE Festival may have come and gone, but there’s still plenty going on at Sydney Opera House. American neo-soul singer Macy Gray has announced a special one-off show taking place at the Concert Hall, Sydney Opera House on Sunday, 16 September.

Gray recently released a new record titled Covered, which, as the name suggests, is comprised of well-known songs revamped by Gray. The range of covers is quite eclectic and includes Nothing Else Matters by Metallica, Smoke 2 Joints by Sublime, Love Lockdown by Kanye West and Creep by Radiohead, to name but a few. Her gravelly voice is still as ear-catching as ever and gives a unique feel to many of the iconic songs that feature on Covered.

Having won multiple awards and sold over 25 million records, Gray’s one-off gig should be something special for her fans.
