Not only has singer-songwriter Macy Gray written a love song about her vibrator, she’s also called it B.O.B. (standing for ‘Battery Operated Boyfriend’) and given it a cute SFW video featuring dancing vibrators.
First, here’s proof that the song is indeed about a vibrator, and not just some dude called Bob. Aside from the smiling vibrators who appear in the track’s video (below), the song also includes the line:
“He gets me so excited. I turn him on / We go baby go / Start the fire and lightning / Ooh aah ooh I, I love my baby BOB.”
Speaking to Elle about the track’s video, Gray said, “It’s going to be so hard to take it seriously, huh? I just hope people take it seriously enough as music.”
Delving into the message behind the song, Gray said she hopes it can help women open up about “what’s really real for them”.
“You get bored and you stop having sex and that’s a tragedy really,” Gray said. “You should have a Bob. You should have all kinds of shit. You shouldn’t be so quiet.”
