Max Green Exits Escape The Fate… Again

Max Green, bassist for Las Vegas post-hardcore group Escape The Fate, has announced that he is leaving the group only a few months after rejoining the band, which he quit once before back in 2012.

Green has released a short official statement (below) to Alt Press, detailing the reasons for his second departure and stating that his decision isn’t a sudden change of mind or him quitting music altogether.

“This decision of mine did not come hastily, it had been something I’ve fought back and forth with since my return to the band earlier this year” Green says, before claiming that he didn’t envision the band becoming what it is today. “The guys are great, and they do great at what they do, but for me personally, the vision I had for this band in the beginning is far far from what it is today.”

Green goes on to describe how his time in Escape The Fate has left him feeling “unfulfilled”, but that he has much love for their fans.

“I know that times change but I cant help feeling unfulfilled at the end of the day when I lay my head down to sleep,” he says. “I love, LOVE my fans more than almost anything in this world and I thank them for welcoming me back and this is not me quitting music, I promise you’ll all be seeing me again.”

Only a few days ago Green wrote on his official Twitter page, “Hey everyone, I’ve been getting asked about why I haven’t been on tour. I’ve been home taking care of a family issue. Everything is fine,” raising fans’ concerns about his current emotional state.

In his newly-released statement, Green tells his fans that he is clean, healthy, and feels that his decision to once again leave the band is a positive one. “I want everyone to know that I’m not on drugs, I’m doing great and am in a great positive state of mind about this decision,” he says.

In conclusion, Green says, “In the words of a true Las Vegas native – You got to know when to hold em, and know when to fold em. Thank you, I love you and will be seeing you soon.”

Escape The Fate released their fourth studio album, Ungrateful, to mixed reviews in May 2013. It was the first album not to feature Green on bass.
