Megadeth Ask Fans To Pick Guest Vocalist For New Album

Written by Mike Hohnen on February 8, 2013

News of the forthcoming Megadeth album was very welcome, but it appears that the release is still a little ways off. The band has reached out to fans to gauge their opinion on who should be tapped to feature as a guest vocalist on a particular track set to be featured on the release.

The post appeared on Megadeth’s Facebook, which is usually fairly active with direct communication between the band and their fans. Despite the fact that who we presume to be Dave Mustaine “has a few ideas”, he is still very interested to hear his fans thoughts.

We’re not sure why 70% of the suggestions are Metallica frontman James Hetfield – that’s probably not going to happen. Another 25% are pure nonsense, but there are a few potential gems in the 4,000+ responses. Jack Black would be freakin’ awesome, as would Tilly from Rammstein . Avenge Sevenfold‘s M. Shadows was also another very interesting one.

Time will tell whether or not the band actually take any of the suggestions on board, but we’d like to think that they are. Who do you think should pick up the mic?
