Melbourne Club Night Announces Closure, Throws Serious Shade At Rival Replacement

Melbourne restaurant and club venue La Di Da has provided the digs for Saturday club night Pony for over two years, but today Pony has announced that it has been forced to wrap up its weekend events.

In an angry Facebook post, Pony blamed both the venue, as well as Anyway club night which is set to take over the Saturday night slot – claiming that La Di Da “turned  its back” on the party throwers.

The post also claimed that the transition had been “handled in a highly disrespectful manner” and was a matter of “Anyway stealing the night” away from them.

“With shock and sadness Pony has been forced to no longer open it’s doors on a Saturday night at La Di Da,” said the Facebook post. “Pony for 2 and a half years has brought nothing but joy and happiness to all of the regulars and created nights you don’t remember with the people you will never forget.”

The post ended with a promise that Pony would return in some shape or form in the future.

Fellow clubbing night Anyway wrapped up its weekly event at The Bottom End pub recently, and will begin operations at La Di Da on Saturday, 17th June.
