Written by Brayden Darke on October 26, 2011

Metallica have started working on their tenth studio album according to bass player Rob Trujillo. In a recent interview with gulfnews, he stated that they’ve started the writing process and will head in to the studio next year.

We’ve got a couple of new songs we have been working on the past couple of weeks. The writing process for the new Metallica album has begun. We’ve been in the studio with Rick Rubin, working on a couple of things, and we’re going to be recording during the most of next year.

Metallica have been busy this year writing and recording with legendary artist Lou Reed, releasing a collaboration album named Lulu, which is due for release at the end of this month.

The new album will be the follow-up to their 2008 album Death Magnetic.
