Metallica’s James Hetfield Added To The Cast Of Zac Efron-Starring Ted Bundy Movie

Metallica frontman James Hetfield is set to star in his first movie.

He will act alongside Zac Efron in the forthcoming Ted Bundy film Extremely Wicked, Shocking Evil and Vile, playing Officer Bob Hayward, who was the first officer to ever arrest Bundy.

Hetfield has featured in other films like 2016’s Billions but this will be the first time he’s ever played a character.

He was likely put up to the role by director Joe Berlinger who also directed Metallica’s documentary Some Kind of Monster plus West Memphis Three doco Paradise Lost which featured the band’s music.

“Having spent hundreds of hours behind the scenes with James and the rest of Metallica, I have experienced his charisma and powerful presence close up,” Berlinger said in a statement (via Pitchfork).

“It seemed only natural that he would bring that same power and magnetism to a dramatic role, so when he agreed to my pitch that he be in the movie, I was thrilled.”

In the past, Hetfield has been involved in movies and television as a writer. He’s penned for Stranger Things, Supernatural and X-Men: Apocalypse.
