Metallica’s New Album Is “Almost Ready”

Cancel your next haircut because Metallica‘s 10th studio LP isn’t far off and it’s supposed to be heavier than Satan’s nutsack.

Drummer Lars Ulrich has just given a new interview revealing that the long-awaited follow-up to the thrashlords’ 2008 album Death Magnetic is “almost ready”.

“I’d say it’s mostly done,” the Danish stick elf told Rolling Stone. “There are all these other responsibilities that have to be taken care of.

“…[But] the record is well on its way. It may come out any century now, actually,” he added cheekily. “There’s a saying: where there’s life, there’s hope.”

The band recently revealed that Death Magnetic engineer Greg Filedman is back on board as producer for album number 10, after Lars described it using the simple terms “metal” and “heavy”.

Heavy metal? Excellent!

Late last year, Ulrich and James Hetfield also starred in a little video that gave us a bit of a sneak peak at some of the heavy riffs on the band’s new album.

Meanwhile, ‘Tallica have been named as official ambassadors for Record Store Day 2016 and have promised to release a special live album paying tribute to the Paris terror attack victims, as well as a pair of deluxe box set re-releases of their first two albums, Kill Em All and Ride The Lightning.

Hopefully their 10th LP won’t be far behind.
