Metallica’s New Album Will Feature Covers Of Iron Maiden And Deep Purple

Metallica‘s new album Hardwired… To Self-Destruct is due out in November this year, and now the band have revealed on their official website that the deluxe edition will include covers of Iron Maiden and Deep Purple.

In their latest update, the band first announced that the record is officially done – before going on to reveal that covers of Remember Tomorrow by Iron Maiden and Deep Purple’s When A Blind Man Cries will appear on the deluxe set’s bonus disc.

“As we were in the 11th hour of wrapping it up, it dawned on us that we have never shared with you in any sort of cohesive ‘official’ manner the extensive covers we have worked on since Death Magnetic,” wrote Metallica.

“While digging into the bonus options to complement the 12-song album with additional material, we realized that none of our versions of these songs from some of our favorite and most respected artists have been readily available on our very own Blackened Recordings.”

These deluxe packages will also include the band’s Ronnie Rising Medley from their 2014 Ronnie James Dio tribute album, and their 2016 version of Lords Of Summer.
