Canadian indie rock band Metric have announced a follow-up to their 2009 album Fantasies. The new album, named Synthetica will be self-released (with joint venture partner Mom + Pop in the USA) on June 11th.
Starting the record in late 2010, Synthetica will be the band’s fifth album, and was recorded in their own studio in Toronto and at the famous Electric Lady Studios in NYC. Frontwoman Emily Haines has said of the new album:
“It sounds like the culmination of everything we have done. We’ve always had a sound in our heads that we hoped to realize and we finally heard it coming back out of the speakers this time.”
