Michelle Obama Drops First Rap Track, Doesn’t Give Barack A Feature

Michelle Obama, the First Lady Of The United States (FLOTUS) has proved to the world that she got flow by dropping her first-ever rap track. It’s called Go To College, and it doesn’t feature any guest vocals from her man and POTUS, Barack Obama.

FLOTUS has teamed up with College Humor and Saturday Night Live‘s Jay Pharoah for her rap debut, which uses hip hop to encourage school-leavers to check out some tertiary education with lines like, “If you wanna fight crime / You should go to college / If you wanna write rhymes / Fill your head with knowledge.”

FLOTUS may have flow, but POTUS has… Coldplay? We’re not quite sure which is better, but POTUS did recently score a feature on Coldplay’s new album, which samples his rendition of Amazing Grace.

It’s pretty likely that Mr Obama would have loved to have featured on Mrs Obama’s rap debut, especially given the fact that he recently named Kendrick Lamar’s How Much A Dollar Cost his favourite song of 2015. We hope he’s holding up okay after not scoring a feature on Go To College.

Earlier this year, FLOTUS created a playlist of girl-power anthems to help promote gender equality, featuring tracks by the likes of Beyoncé, Demi Lovato and Mary J. Blige. What’s more, Mrs Obama’s favourite tune of the past year is Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk.
