Ministry Frontman Rushed To Hospital After Collapsing On Stage

Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen was rushed to hospital on Saturday night after he collapsed on stage at the band’s concert in Paris.

The Guardian reports the industrial metal band was about 50 minutes into their set at Paris venue Le Bataclan when Jourgensen rushed from the stage, causing an abrupt end to the show.

RadioMetal reports that Jourgensen seemed “really drunk” even from the start of the band’s show.  The band’s reps have denied he was intoxicated.

After fainting, Jourgensen was rushed by ambulance to hospital, where doctors undertook a full examination and blood tests.

In a statement, the band said Jourgensen was “diagnosed to have had a full-system collapse due to extreme dehydration and heat exhaustion intensified by the lack of ventilation on stage at the venue.”

Ministry cancelled their next scheduled gig in Étaples – with Jourgensen now having “a few days rest to recuperate and receive additional medical attention in Switzerland”. Their tour is scheduled to resume in Luzerne tomorrow night.
