Missy Higgins Australian Tour June/July 2012 + ‘Unashamed Desire’ Video

Written by Brayden Darke on April 23, 2012

Australian folk songstress Missy Higgins has announced Australian tour dates for this June and July, on the back of a brand new single titled Unashamed Desire, which you can check out below, and her new album The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle. She’ll also wrap up her shows by appearing on the Splendour in the Grass 2012 lineup.

The new track and tour marks her first appearance since 2007, following her decision to quit music after releasing two albums The Sound of White and On A Clear Night.

Missy has been in the US supporting Gotye and last week, when his single topped the US charts, Missy joined Gotye on stage in San Francisco to perform Kimbra’s vocal part (Kimbra being in Europe to promote her album). The pair also teamed up again for a sold-out show in Los Angeles the following night.

“I was so nervous to have to sing that song”, she says. “It was fun though and a real honour. I was already really excited to be playing some new songs for the first time at that show, so getting to sing with Wally on that day of all days made a good night even better.”

Tickets on sale Wednesday 2nd May.

Her new album is out 1st June.
