Australian producer Mista Savona has gathered together a 15-piece supergroup for a 2018 ‘Havana Meets Kingston’ tour.
Named after his most recent record, the tour will bring together legendary musicians from countries including Cuba, Jamaica and the UK for a live sound clash.
The lineup includes Jamaican rhythm section Sly & Robbie, Barbarito Torres and Rolando Luna from Bueno Vista Social Club and Julito Padron of Cuban band Irakere.
Havana Meets Kingston blends together the revolutionary musical cultures of Cuba and Jamaica and it’s already getting critical acclaim. Music Feeds reviewer Cyclone Wehner called it “a wonderfully festive project”.
Savona will play a number of headline dates as part of the tour, and will also appear at WOMADelaide. Check out all the dates below, plus the entire touring band.
