Modern Life Is War Drummer Tasered Following Police Pursuit

Tyler Oleson of highly-regarded hardcore outfit Modern Life Is War has been taken into custody over the weekend, following a short, albeit eventful, police pursuit, which ended with the drummer being tasered.

Speaking to The Des Moines Register, Sgt. Melinda Ruopp explained that Oleson initially came to the attention of officers after he flipped them off while driving past their patrol car, before trying to run them off the road. Officers gave chase only to have Oleson attempt to reverse into their vehicle. Though the damage was only cosmetic, Oleson attempted to get away on foot, but failed to outrun the officers’ tasers.

Oleson has so far been charged with alluding criminal mischief in the second degree, aggravated assault and OWI (Operating a vehicle While Intoxicated).

The timing couldn’t have been worse, with the band having recently released their reunion album, titled Fever Hunting. However Oleson’s band mates took to Facebook to assure fans that the album and their October album launch dates will go ahead unheeded, barring any further bad news from the band.

Modern Life Is War Facebook Statement
